Candidate Slams Foreign Observers
Giorgi Maisashvili, a presidential candidate and leader of the opposition Party of Future, said most foreign observers monitoring today’s polls were “indifferent” towards the election process.
“My friends, foreign observers, who are doing their best to ensure a fair election in Georgia, tell us that the majority of foreign observers ignore this situation [violations] and are simply standing around,” Maisashvili said. “They display no responsible approach and tend to be indifferent. Our votes should be defended by the voters themselves and observers representing opposition candidates.”
He also warned the authorities that “there will be no peace without justice. Give us justice and we’ll guarantee peace.”
