Controversy over Polling Stations in S.Ossetia Conflict Zone
There are conflicting reports on who was responsible for preventing opposition precinct commission members from getting to certain villages in the South Ossetian conflict zone.
The opposition Labor and New Rights parties have claimed that police obstructed entry to the villages of Nuli and Avnevi in the conflict zone.
Central Election Commission spokesman Giorgi Porchkhidze, however, said at a news conference that unconfirmed reports suggested that South Ossetian militias were to blame for blocking the roads. The CEC, he added, was trying to confirm the reports.
