Shevardnadze does not Expect Success from Meeting with Putin
(Tbilisi. March 3, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Georgian President says that the conflict in Abkhazia will be the top issue discussed during the meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, scheduled for March 7 in Russia’s town of Sochi.
“I do not expect a great success and breakthrough in resolving disagreements from this meeting, but it will be a positive for our [Russo-Georgian] further cooperation,” President Shevardnadze said today in his radio interview.
Eduard Shevardnadze said he “highly values Russian President’s initiative and willingness to hold a bilateral meeting.”
