Saakashvili to Visit France

President Saakashvili will launch a working visit to France on June 13.

He plans talks with his French counterpart, Nicolas Sarkozy. The two leaders met before when Sarkozy was the interior minister. In May, Saakashvili welcomed Sarkozy’s victory in the French presidential elections and said that Sarkozy had always been ?a friend of Georgia?s.? He also hailed Sarkozy as ?a future General Charles de Gaulle.?

Meanwhile, President Saakashvili visits the Czech Republic, where he arrived from St. Petersburg on June 11, on the invitation of the Prague-based Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL).
