CIS Chief Executive Upbeat about CIS Despite Some Problems

Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Vladimir Rushailo said that the CIS has ?serious reserves for development? despite the scepticism which has been increasing regarding this organization recently,  RIA Novosti news agency reported on April 13.
 
?Currently, three key trends of cooperation have became vivid among the CIS member states: economic integration, peace, stability and security, as well as humanitarian cooperation,? RIA Novosti quotes Rushailo as saying.
 
He also said that the developments in Georgia, Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan demonstrates that the CIS is not currently experiencing the best times, owing to the ?weakness of government and unsolved social-economic problems in some of the CIS countries.?
