Businessmen Want to Reduce Official Watchdog Agencies

(Tbilisi, June 13, Civil Georgia) – In the Anti-Corruption Council of Georgia businessmen discussed the draft law on regulation of the official watchdog agencies on June 13.

New Secretary of the Anti-Corruption Council Kakha Ugulava and the businessmen agreed that the number of the official watchdog agencies should be reduced from 38 to 5-6.

Businessmen claim that existence of the numerous government inspection bodies encourages corruption and the businessmen have to find the ways to avoid paying taxes.

The Industry will Save Georgia party leader, a influential businessman Zurab Tkemaladze said at the meeting that this draft would not be enough to assist industry in Georgia, the liberal Tax Code should be adopted, he said.
