Opposition Breaks into Parliament Building
Tens of thousands of protestors chanting “resign, resign!” marched from the State Chancellery towards the Parliament building, where the first session of the new Parliament was being held.
The opposition leaders managed to break into the session hall, where President Shevardnadze was making a speech.
President’s security helped Shevardnadze out of the hall. Presently the opposition leaders and their supporters remain in the session hall.
