New Parliament Session Convened

Amid the tension outside in the streets of Tbilisi, the Georgian President declared the first session of the new Parliament opened.

He congratulated the MPs on the beginning of the work and wished them success.

Meanwhile, tens of thousands of protesters are rallying in front of the State Chancellery, demanding President Shevardnadze’s resignation.
