Shevardnadze: “I will not Step Down”

President Shevardnadze reiterated in his Monday radiobroadcast on November 17 that he “will not step down.”  

“These calls for resignation will not make me resign. The Presidential elections are scheduled for 2005 and Georgian people will elect the new President,” Shevardnadze added.

Later at the news briefing Shevardnadze reiterated, “the President will not resign, will not resign till the presidential elections.”
