Shevardnadze, Putin Discussed Latest Events in Georgia Again

President Shevardnadze held one more phone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on November 15.

This is already the third conversation between the Georgian and Russian Presidents within a week.

According to the President’s spokesman Kakha Imnadze the Russian President showed interest in the latest events in the country, after the mass protest rally in Tbilisi on November 14 and expressed satisfaction that the country managed to avoid civil confrontation.

Shevardnadze reiterated his readiness for holding a dialogue with the opposition to prevent aggravation of the situation in the country.
