Saakashvili Blames Police for Zugdidi Shooting

Mikheil Saakashvili, leader of the National Movement, accused the local police of thwarting the protest rally in Zugdidi, when a group of armed men attacked the protesters and fired shots from automatic weapons on November 7. As a result on woman was wounded.

“The local police attacked the protesters today. The Interior Minister [Koba Narchemashvili] and the President [Eduard Shevardnadze] are to blame for the incident,” Mikheil Saakashvili said.
