Election Watchdog: High Voter Turnout to Prevent Ballot Fraud
Zurab Chiaberashvili of the election watchdog, International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED) said the poor knowledge of the Election Code by the members of the precinct election commissions “hinders normal election process.”
“Our observers report that numerous procedural violations occur because of this reason,” Chiaberashvili said. He added, “high voter turnout will be the only way to obstruct the mass ballot fraud.”
According to ISFED voter turnover throughout Georgia is about 14% by the midday, which Chiaberashvili characterises as “quite normal” figure.
