Parliament in breakaway South Ossetia approved Aslanbek Bulatsev as Prime Minister on October 22, the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee reported.
Before the appointment, Bulatsev served as the head of the Federal Tax Service in Russia’s North Ossetian Republic. Prior to that Bulatsev served as head of the financial department of the Federal Security Service in North Ossetia before 2006.
The South Ossetian leader, Eduard Kokoity, who attended the parliamentary session, said he had taken “the right decision” by sacking the cabinet in August, shortly after the war, because he said, the previous government “was failing to tackle tasks in the crisis situation.”
Chochiev has been the acting PM since August 18, when Kokoity dismissed the cabinet led by Yuri Morozov, who was also recruited from Russia back in 2005.
