Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili said that Georgia should renounce ?all agreements signed in respect of both the Abkhaz and South Ossetian conflicts in few months.?
Speaking in a political talk-show on Rustavi 2 TV on July 20 Okruashvili said that Georgia is committed to peacefully solve conflicts, ?but we are not going to keep a blind eye on these conflicts for a long time.?
When asked what he means under ?for a long time,? Okruashvili responded: ?one month.?
He hailed the Georgian Parliament?s July 18 resolution, which instructed the government to launch procedures for withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from the conflict zones, as ?unprecedented.?
?This is a resolution which gives a direct instruction to the government and entrusts us to start everyday work to enforce this decision. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has to pass a huge test,? Okruashvili said.
He said that this resolution is not ?an empty paper? as described by the opposition parliamentarians.
