Russia Reiterates Support to Georgia’s Territorial Integrity

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a news briefing on March 17 that Russia continues to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.

“I will discuss the current developments in Georgia during the visit of Georgian National Security Council Chief Vano Merabishvili to Moscow,” Sergei Lavrov said, adding that the problem between Georgia’s central authorities and the leadership of its Autonomous Republic of Adjara should be settled through a constructive dialogue.

Vano Merabishvili, who leaves for Moscow on March 17, is also planned to hold meetings with his Russian counterpart.
