Saakashvili Calls Voters for Registration

Presidential candidate Mikheil Saakashvili called the Georgian citizens for undergoing voter registration procedures. 

The voter registration process started on December 15 to make a voter lists for the January 4 snap presidential elections. The voters will have to go to the precincts and fill out the special forms, which would enable them to cast ballot on January 4.

According to the Central Election Commission, around 110,000 voters underwent registration throughout Georgia so far.

Mikheil Saakashvili said that the Interior Ministry will issue ID cards for the Georgian citizens free of charge in order to able the voters to cast ballot on January 4 elections.

The process of voter registration will last until December 21, when the Central Election Commission in cooperation with the Interior and Justice Ministries, together with other relevant state agency will double-check the lists.

The finalized voter lists will be posted at the precincts on December 29, so that the voters could recheck them.
