(Tbilisi, June 19 2003, Civil Georgia) – Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze met US Ambassador in Georgia Richard Miles today to discuss pre-election situation in the country.
After the meeting Ambassador Richard Miles told the reporters that the election is Georgia?s internal affair, however he added that the opposition and the government should agree on adoption of the new election code. He called the political parties to hasten adoption of the democratic election code.
After the meeting with the US Ambassador Nino Burjanadze started consultations with the leaders of the Parliamentary factions regarding the election code.
