Salome Zourabichvili, leader of Georgia’s Way party, said on April 9 that she had joined Alliance for Georgia.
“This [Alliance] is an alternative [to the current authorities] for tomorrow and way of hope,” said Zourabichvili, who was Georgia’s foreign minister in 2004-2005.
Irakli Alasania, the leader of Alliance for Georgia, who is Tbilisi mayoral candidate, said it was “a very important decision.”
Davit Usupashvili, leader of Republican Party and co-chairman of Alliance for Georgia, said that the decision did not imply only running in the local elections on the joint ticket. “It is a long-term cooperation,” he said.
The Alliance for Georgia also includes New Rights Party and former public defender, Sozar Subari, who is the coalition’s candidate for the Tbilisi City Council chairmanship.
