Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin met with U.S. Ambassador to the Russian Federation John Beyrle on September 30 to discuss the current situation in the South Caucasus.
The sides discussed the implementation of the EU-brokered six-point ceasefire agreement.
“The Russian side stressed the need to engage the international community in securing strong guarantees for the non-use of force by Georgia,” the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
