Khvicha Nikorashvili was badly injured in an explosion that struck his mini-van near the village of Prisi in the South Ossetian conflict zone on September 25.
While Georgian media sources report that he was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade, the Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues has stated that the incident occurred after the mini-van ran on a landmine.
The incident comes shortly after two South Ossetian militia fighters were injured in a clash with Georgian police on September 23. Georgian law enforcers claim that the September 23 clash occurred between South Ossetian ?gangs? and that the Georgian police were not involved.
