Chief of the Georgian President?s Administration Giorgi Arveladze said that active phase of the ongoing police operation in Kodori gorge to disarm rebel militias will be over in ?several hours.?
He said that two employees of the Interior Ministry were hospitalized, and that their injuries are not life-threatening. Earlier on July 26 Georgian media sources reported that four persons were wounded, but it was unclear whether wounded persons were from government forces or the militia group.
?We expect that the major phase of the ongoing anti-criminal operation will be over in several hours? I want to stress that this is an anti-criminal operation which has nothing to do with military operations or with war,? Arveladze said.
