Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, OSCE Envoy Discuss S.Ossetia

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin met with Terhi Hakala, the head of the OSCE mission in Georgia, in Moscow on December 20 to discuss issues related to the South Ossetian conflict, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.


?The sides expressed concern over the current situation in the conflict zone and stressed the necessity for the immediate resumption of negotiations in the framework of the Joint Control Commission,? the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a press release.


It also said that Karasin and Hakala had also focused on the necessity of confidence building between the sides, interaction between the Georgian and South Ossetian law enforcement agencies, economic rehabilitation and free movement in the conflict zone.
