Georgian Students to Rally Near Enguri Bridge

Georgian students will hold a large-scale protest rally on April 27 near the bridge over the Enguri river, which links breakaway Abkhazia with the rest of Georgia.

The protesters will demand the immediate release of three Georgian students arrested by Abkhaz militia for “illegally crossing the border” on March 1.

Sokhumi said that the students would be released only after the Georgian side had released David Sigua, head of the Gali District’s local election commission.
