136 candidates have submitted applications to run in the breakaway Abkhazia?s parliamentary elections scheduled for March 4, Abkhaz news agency Apsnipress reported on February 1.
The deadline for submitting applications expires on February 1. The unrecognized republic?s Central Election Commission will consider applications from February 2 to February 21.
Candidates will run for the 35-seat legislative body, which will be elected through majoritarian system in 35 single-mandate constituencies. 25% voter turnout is needed for valid elections.
