Russian Chief Negotiator Visits Tskhinvali

Russia Foreign Ministry?s envoy in charge of the South Ossetia peace talks Yuri Popov met with acting deputy head of government of the breakaway region Boris Chochiev in Tskhinvali on November 29.


Issues related with negotiating process with the Georgian side were discussed during the meeting, according to the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee.


In other reports from the conflict zone, the South Ossetian authorities accused the Georgian police of ?kidnapping? two local Ossetians on November 28. The Georgian media sources reported quoting officials that the Georgian police arrested two persons suspected in drug trafficking.


Meanwhile, the breakaway South Ossetia?s legislative body supported reappointment of Yuri Morozov on the position of the chairman of government on November 29, the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee reported.


The cabinet members in the breakaway region were automatically suspended from their offices after re-election of Eduard Kokoity as South Ossetian leader. Kokoity is expected to nominate government members by December 20.
