Saakashvili Seeks for Better Relations with Russia

In an interview with the Russian Echo Moskvy radio station published on November 12 Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said that Georgia is ready to make friends with any country which helps it settle a great deal of problems.

?Russia can most easily settle these problems for us. Unfortunately, other countries always helped us to settle the problems, while the Russian-Georgian relations were not so clear,? President Saakashvili said.

He expressed hope that the Russian-Georgian relationship would improve. ?I am ready to do my utmost for it,? he added.

Earlier, on November 8, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that ?Russia consistently stands for development and strengthening of good-neighborly relations with Georgia.?
