Sean McCormack, Spokesman of the U.S. Department of State, said on October 20, while commenting on the dismissal of Salome Zourabichvili, Georgia?s ex-Foreign Minister, that the United States is ready to work with the new Foreign Minister of Georgia.
?This is an internal matter for the Georgian Government. I think that we look forward to working with the Georgian Government on issues of mutual concern as well as working with a new Foreign Minister [Gela Bezhuashvili]. But in terms of any other questions, it’s a matter for the Georgian Government to address,? Sean McCormack said at a news briefing in Washington.
Salome Zourabichvili was sacked by Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli late on October 19 after the uncompromising demand of parliamentarians from the ruling National Movement party.
