UN Secretary General Kofi Annan said on October 10 that the United Nations will continue its efforts over the settlement of the Abkhaz conflict.
?We haven?t made as much progress as I would like, and our efforts continue,? Annan said at a press conference in Geneva.
He said that Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Georgia Heidi Tagliavini continues working with the Georgian and Russian Governments on this issue. “They meet periodically, here [in Geneva], the [UN Secretary-General?s Group of] Friends of Georgia meeting,” Annan added.
