MoD Keeps Silent on Reported Massive Fist-Fight among Soldiers

At least two servicemen were injured as a result of a massive fist-fighting involving dozens of soldiers in the military unit located in Gori, Georgia on August 28, Georgian media sources reported on August 30.


Reports also say that random shots were also heard from the military unit. The Georgian daily Rezonansi reported that soldiers were drunk, as they had been celebrating the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.


The Ministry of Defense (MoD) declined to comment. ?The [Defense] Ministry has no information regarding the incident,? Nana Intskirveli, a spokesperson of the Defense Ministry told Civil Georgia on August 30.
