Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili said on April 30 that ?the Georgian army is strengthening and gaining momentum gradually, step-by-step, in order to get closer to NATO standards.?
Okruashvili was speaking at a reception organized by the Defense Ministry to mark 14th anniversary of the Georgian Armed Forces.
?In a very short period of time we made serious steps towards the Euro-Atlantic structures. In few days the Georgian officials, including me, will visit Brussels in an attempt to make further step forwards towards the NATO,? the Defense Minister said.
