Georgian Parliament Condemns Human Rights Violation in Belarus

On April 20 the Georgian Parliament unanimously adopted a statement which expresses concern over the violation of human rights and democratic principles by the government of Belarus.

The Georgian legislators expressed solidarity with the people of Belarus and called on the Parliament, the government and judicial authorities of Belarus to prevent the establishment of dictatorship in the country.

?’Prisoners of conscience’ were arrested and convicted through illegal procedures, under absurd accusations. Most supporters of democracy are persecuted or imprisoned,? the statement reads.
