Candidacies for Public Television Board of Trustees Nominated

Georgian President?s Spokesperson Gela Charkviani presented 18 candidates for the public television board of trustees, who were selected through an open competition. All of them will be submitted to the Parliament for consideration, out of which the Parliament will select 9.


Among the candidates are Alexander Rondeli, who chairs the Tbilisi-based think-tank Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies, Ghia Nodia, head of the Tbilisi-based think-tank Caucasian Institute for Peace, Democracy and Development (CIPDD), Ana Dolidze of the Georgian Young Lawyers Association, Tamar Kintsurashvili of the Liberty Institute and others.


According to the Law on Broadcasting, the board of trustees will appoint the director general of the public television for a term of six years.
