U.S. Envoy, Presidential-Backed Bloc Discussed Elections

U.S. Ambassador Richard Miles met with one of the leaders of the presidential-backed election bloc For New Georgia Vazha Lortkipanidze on October 28 to discuss the November 2 parliamentary elections. 

The U.S. Ambassador said after the meeting that the authorities, as well as the opposition parties should ensure fair and free elections and called on them to refrain from violence during the elections.

US Ambassador held on October 27 meetings with leaders of opposition New Rights and Labor parties to discuss the upcoming parliamentary elections.
