OSCE Observers Arrived in Georgia

(Tbilisi, September 4, 2003, Civil Georgia) – OSCE observers arrived in Tbilisi on September 4 to monitor the preparation processfor the upcoming parliamentary elections in Georgia.

The OSCE Mission to Georgia reports that the observers, who already met with President Shevardnadze today, are ready to foster fair elections in the country.

The Head of the OSCE Mission to Georgia, Roy Reeve, said at a news briefing on August 27, that about 600-700 foreign observers would monitor the parliamentary elections in Georgia on November 2.
