US Envoy Says Georgia’s Participation in Iraqi Rehabilitation is Discussed

(Tbilisi. April 22, 2003. Civil Georgia) – US ambassador in Georgian Richard Miles said in the interview to the Tbilisi-based Rustavi 2 TV channel that Georgia and US hold consultation on Georgia’s possible participation in the Iraqi post-war rehabilitation process.

US envoy did not rule out that Georgian troops might be dispatched to Iraq. He also said that Georgia can help with sending doctors to Iraq as well.

Richard Miles said the issue is being discussed at US Central Command in Tampa, Florida, where Georgia has its representative.
