(Tbilisi February 20, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Commander of the U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Atlantic Lieutenant General Martin R. Berndt arrived in Georgia today.
Meeting with Georgian Defense Minister Davit Tevzadze and Chief of the Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces Joni Pirtskhalaishvili are scheduled.
Lieutenant General Berndt will also visit Krtsanisi military field, where the US military instructors train Georgian soldiers within the US-funded Georgia Train-and-Equip program.
