Tbilisi Open Air Music Festival

In 2009 when Georgia refused to participate in Eurovision song contest in Moscow after the contest organizer, European Broadcasting Union, told Georgia to re-write its song lyrics, poking fun at Vladimir Putin, the Georgian authorities helped to orginize music festival in Tbilisi, Open Air-Alter/Vision, or an alternative to Eurovision. This year Tbilisi Open Air 2012 was held on June 2-3 in outskirts of Tbilisi with lineup including eight Georgia and six foreign bands, among them was Russian band DDT, which closed the festival drawing thousands of people.
