Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Giorgi Manjgaladze and Deputy State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Giorgi Kaladze met ambassadors of the UN Secretary General’s Group of Friends (Germany, US, Great Britain, Russia, France) on April 26, the Georgian Foreign Ministry reported.
The Georgian side thanked the Group of Friends for its help in the adoption of the “unbiased and balanced resolution” on Abkhazia by the UN Security Council on April 13.
The sides discussed the safe and dignified return of refugees and internally displaced persons to the entire territory of Abkhazia.
The Georgian side reaffirmed its readiness to engage without preconditions in a constructive dialogue with the Abkhaz side. “However,” according to a Foreign Ministry statement, “there has been no willingness from separatists to enter into a dialogue.”
