Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Giorgi Khaindrava, who is representing the Georgian side at a session of the quadripartite Joint Control Commission (JCC) in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana, said on November 16 that the second day of the talks ?proved once again that it is impossible to work within the current format,? referring to the Russian-dominated JCC.
?The destructive position of both the Russian and South Ossetian sides practically hampers us from achieving concrete results,? Giorgi Khaindrava told the Tbilisi-based Imedi television.
Khaindrava said that despite ?an incident? which took place during the talks on Wednesday, the session of the JCC continues.
The Georgian State Minister said that he walked out of the session after, as he put it, the South Ossetian side ?obstructed? him from expressing Tbilisi?s negative position over the Russian side’s proposal to hold talks between the Russian and Georgian Presidents, with the participation of the South Ossetian leader.
