Georgian Man Among Nice Attack Victims

A Georgian citizen has been confirmed among the dead from last week’s truck attack in the French city of Nice, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said on July 18.

The man in his mid-50s had lived in Belgium in recent years.

“The French side officially confirmed today that there is a Georgian citizen – Roman Ekmalian, born in 1960 – among the victims of the terrorist attack in Nice on July 14,” the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.

84 people died after an attacker drove a truck through crowds gathered to watch the Bastille Day fireworks in Nice on July 14.
