April GDP Growth 4.3% – Preliminary Data

Georgia’s annual real GDP grew 4.3% in April, after 3.4% growth in March, according to preliminary data released by the state statistics office, Geostat, on Monday.

Annual economic growth was 2.8% in the first four months of this year, slightly higher than 2.6% in the same period of last year.

Government’s forecast for 2016 economic growth stands at 3%.

Georgia’s economy expanded by 2.8% in 2015, the weakest growth since 2009.
