Commander of U.S. Forces in Europe Visits Georgia

U.S. Air Force General Philip Breedlove, commander of the U.S. forces in Europe, started a two-day visit to Georgia on March 22.

Gen. Breedlove, who is also NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, met on Tuesday evening Georgia’s President Giorgi Margvelashvili.

The Georgian President awarded Gen. Breedlove with the Order of the Golden Fleece for “a significant contribution made to Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration and to deepening of the U.S-Georgian defense relations.”
 
Gen. Breedlove will meet Defense Minister Tina Khidasheli on March 23, according to the Georgian Ministry of Defense.
