Georgia has welcomed lifting of international sanctions against Iran related to its nuclear program and said it is “opening up new opportunities for the region.”
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia welcomes the international community’s efforts that have led to the development of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) related to Iran’s nuclear program and the decision to start its implementation based on the Report of the International Atomic Energy Agency published on 16 January 2016,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on January 21.
“The decision and the successful implementation of the agreement regarding Iran’s nuclear program represent an important step opening up new opportunities for the region and the entire world,” it said.
