South Ossetian Militias Hold Maneuvers

On July 13 Georgian Imedi and Rustavi 2 televisions broadcasted footage showing breakaway South Ossetia?s militia groups holding military exercises in the Java district of the unrecognized republic.


Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania told reporters on July 13 that ?dozens of foreign fighters are in the Java district right now.?


?They pose no threat to us, but we do not want to use force,? Zurab Zhvania added.


Authorities in breakaway South Ossetia reported on July 12, that ?hundreds of volunteers? from Georgia?s breakaway Abkhazia and Russia?s North Ossetia joined the South Ossetian forces.
