Opposition Leaders Visit Estonia

Salome Zourabichvili, Kakha Kukava and Davit Usupashvili, leaders of opposition Georgia’s Way, Conservative Party and Republican Party, respectively, left for Estonia early on March 10.

The opposition leaders will meet Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves and Prime Minister Andrus Ansip. Talks with First Vice-Speaker of the Estonian Parliament Kristiina Ojuland are also planned, the Conservative Party’s press office reported.

Democratic development and Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations will be discussed during the talks.

“Georgia’s friends have seen that the authorities have failed to cope with problems and therefore they have decided to establish close relations with the opposition,” Davit Usupashvili told reporters before his departure.
