Georgia Hosts PfP Air Maneuvers

A multinational, ten-day air exercise under the NATO Partnership for Peace (PfP) program started at the military airfield Alekseevka outside Tbilisi on July 11, the Georgian Ministry of Defense said.


Cooperative Archer 2007 involves participants from four NATO member states (Germany, Hungary, Turkey and the United States), eight partner countries (Albania, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Croatia, Macedonia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine), and Jordan.


The exercises, according to the MoD, are aimed at increasing coordination between NATO and its partners in the area of humanitarian relief air operations.
