Russia Rotates Troops in South Ossetia

Russia will carry out a planned rotation of its peacekeepers in the South Ossetian conflict zone on May 21-25, the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee quoted Spokesperson for the Joint Peacekeeping Forces Vladimir Ivanov as saying on May 20.


According to the report, 500 new servicemen will replace the present contingent of the Russian Peacekeeping Battalion.


?No military hardware will be brought to the Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone,? Ivanov said.
