Polish President Meets Georgian Leadership

Boosting economic cooperation between Georgia and Poland, especially on diversification of energy supplies, will top the talks between visiting Polish President Lech Kaczy?ski and the Georgian leadership, Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze told reporters on April 16.


President Kaczy?ski, who is paying a two-day official visit to Georgia, is currently meeting with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili. Talks with Nino Burjanadze are also scheduled later today.


?Poland understands very well, better than some other European states, how important the diversification of energy resources is? the creation of additional energy supplies is of huge importance,? Burjanadze told reporters.  


Georgian Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili described Poland as ?a firm partner? in relation to Euro-Atlantic integration.


?I hope that we will successfully develop our relations in the economic field, too,? Bezhuashvili told reporters on April 16.
