Tbilisi Demands Release of Georgian Activists

The Georgian Foreign Ministry called on the international community and human rights watchdogs to employ ?all tools of leverage at their disposal? to make authorities in breakaway Abkhazia release three Georgian activitists arrested on March 1.

In a statement issued on March 15 the Georgian Foreign Ministry expressed ?extreme concern over the kidnapping and arrest of three peaceful civilians by the so-called law-enforcers of the Abkhazian separatist regime.?

All three Georgians are accused by Sokhumi of ?illegally crossing the state border.?
