Bush, Saakashvili to Meet in Washington

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will hold talks with U.S. President George W. Bush at the White House in Washington on July 5.


The two Presidents will discuss ?developments in consolidating Georgia?s democratic transition since the U.S. President?s visit to Georgia in May, 2005? along with other issues involving secessionist conflicts and energy security, the White House reported.


Talks with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice are also planned.


President Saakashvili is accompanied by Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili, presidential aide for the Abkhaz conflict issues Irakli Alasania, Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Defense and Security MP Nika Rurua and president?s senior advisor Daniel Kunin.
